Dr. Florence is also fondly known to her young students as Ms. Florence. She has over 25 years of teaching experience and she is an ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist specializing in early intervention.
In 2004, she founded Joyful Noise Studio, a thriving Kindermusik and piano studio in Powell. Though she closed the Kindermusik studio in 2014, she continues to teach piano to young students..
After a thriving career as a Professor and Department Chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders at a University, she felt led to teach Kindermusik again and open her private practice. She renamed the studio " BRIGHTER DAYS CENTER: Language, Mind and Music" to encompass additional services that she has to offer.
As a Kindermusik educator, she uses music and movement to promote language and social development in young children. She is very passionate about sharing the joy and benefits of music with people of all ages.
Dr. Florence lives in Powell, with her husband Luki, their children, and Teddy their beloved Goldendoodle. In her spare time, Dr. Florence enjoys reading, listening to music, chatting over coffee or meals with her friends, volunteering at her church, watching movies, spending time with her family, and supporting her children and students in their various performing arts endeavors.
